  1. My son has been racing a few more years then you have but he is 14. What he does is about 2 months before racing starts he starts riding his bike everyday for atleast 1 hour. After he does it a hour for a week he jumps up to 2 hours. And on weekends it is heading to the local track to practice. Also about a month before racing starts he joins the track team at school. That builds all your leg strength. And the only real way to work your arms is to ride. Or you will get arm pumps and we all know they arent any fun.

    Sure hope this helps.

  2. dont escersize your arms, it will give you arm pump. Run on the tredmill alot and train at a nearby mx track, my dad owns one on l.i. if you do not have one.

  3. It wouldn't hurt to go to the gym, and do a cardio workout for stamina, other than that do your workouts on bike.

    Good luck with your racing

  4. Have  look in the discover section as this question has been asked a number of times and you will find some different answers and suggestions there.

    Good luck with race season

  5. There is no replacment for seat time, but any strenght and cardio training will help also. Personally I just ride as miuch as possible.

  6. Good for you girl. I too race and have been for over 25 years on many, many bikes in Supersport 400 & 600, Aprila RSV 1000 and Minitwins SV650. Also Moto X.

I do weight training but find the best way to keep in good shape is to continue riding, especially the Moto X.

Best of luck to you for your future racing. I have since last season now retired as I'm getting to old to throw myself around plus I want to concentrate on my sons racing (He's only 6, but wants to be the next Valentino Rossi) So costing me an arm and both legs!!!!!!! More than I ever lost during my own racing.
