  1. Recently in May I had the same thing going on. I was expecting exreme pain. But happily they gave me lauging gas..you may ask for at no cost. then you wont feel the needles and you only feel pressure.

i did take an Advil before so i suggest.

    good luck..expanders dont hurt :))

  2. well i am very very scared of needles too.........but once your mouth falls asleep u wont feel pain......nd i am also geting a tooth out.......so dont worry u r not d only 1!!!!!!!!!!....

  3. Not even a week ago, I got my four wisdom teeth pulled. It hurts, and I'm pretty swollen, but the surgery itself was honestly the easiest part.

It's normal to be nervous, but if they do to you what they did to me, it's no problem. You're asleep in like five minutes; afterwards it feels like you were just taking a nap.

  4. OK, the worst part is the needles. But that only lasts for like 2 seconds. Trust me, i had 4 teeth pulled too. It's not that bad, and if it's for straight teeth, then it's totally worth it.

  5. i've had six teeth pulled, 2 when i was 7 or 8 and the other 4 when i was 12, and the second time i wouldn't let the dentist give me the shots and i freaked out, so i had to come back a week later and just let myself get the shots. don't think too much about it, and don't worry because the dentist knows what he's doing. i don't like needles either but you will have to get it eventually, so just get it over with because it's pretty embarrassing when you have to come back in... i was scared too but you really just have to let it get done.

as far as expanders go, i also had one when i was about 8, and they are such a pain in the neck. it hurts when the orthodontist bends the wires to adjust it but it goes away after a couple of days, as does most orthodontic adjustment pains.

good luck with all of it!

  6. when i was young(about 7) i had 5 teeth taken out at once...

just dont worry they will put you to sleep on make your mouth go numb... the numb less will last about 5-8 hours after the teeth is out so then you wont feel a thing.

also your braces will hurt for about 1 week after that you will get used 2 them

    good luck x

  7. Dont worry about it, youre mouth will be numb and you wont feel the pain. The needle does hurt a bit, but only for a split second, then its over. I have an expander and braces, they only hurt the first week! When i get annoyed with my braces, i just think about what my teeth are gonna be like by the end of it. So dw so much about the process, it will be over in no time, but that beautiful smile is going to last forever :D

  8. Firstly, I know exactly how you're feeling as I went through the same thing a few years ago - I had to have four teeth taken out before I had my braces and I was absolutely terrified of dentists and needles. In the end though, it turned out that I was worrying over nothing. These days, injections are almost painless, and if you're really scared then your dentist will probably be able to put some numbing gel on your gums so you won't even feel the needle going in. And once you're all numb, you won't feel a thing except a bit of pressure when they are removing the teeth. Honestly, you will be fine.

Try not to worry, and good luck :)
