Getting Braces off Soon?

Question

In about 2 weeks I'll be getting my braces off. Anything I should know about? Does it hurt? How long does it take?

I took two advil before I went in to get my braces off. It really didn't hurt at all, but I took it just in case. It also helped to calm me a little. There really isn't anything you need to know, but your teeth feel really slimy at first, it's a really neat feeling. And I don't remember how long it took for me, but it didn't seem long at all.

i had my tonge trust taken out 2 years ago and it doesnt take that long and it shouldnt take that long for you and i sure that they take it off the same way so belive me it wont hurt and my mom had braces and i will need braces so i asked her and she said it didnt hurt

so you have nothing to worry about!

I just watched my sister get hers taken off. The actual removal of the braces takes minutes but the bulk of your time will be spent getting the glue ground off your teeth and polishing them. You will also make another new set of teeth impressions. All in all, it probably took a total of 45 minutes to one hour.

It can be a little irritating on the front teeth and I can't stand the drilling sound of the cement getting shaved off, but it doesn't really hurt at all.

DON'T take the retainer off right after you get it. At least leave it in until your next meal.

lol, that was my mistake and I couldn't figure out how to get it back in! XD

Also, if anything in perticular starts to bother you with your retainder, then you just tell the ortho people that, and they'll usually fix it for you if they can.

Wear it all the time, and you don't have to take it out to drink, but some people do.

No it doesn't hurt they just add a liquid to remove  the brackets. This takes less than 30 minutes.

it dosent hurt lol. but they put that plastic thing in your mouth to strech out your mouth lol so when they take it out your lips feel weird, thats about it .... oh and youll be l*****g the front of your teeth alot 4 like a week

It hurts a bit, I won't lie to you. And even if you keep your teeth really clean, the process is stinky. Also, wear your retainer religiously! Too many people told me that they had to get braces all over again when they were kids because they didn't wear their retainers. Good luck, and smile!

I don't think it hurts, maybe it was just a little uncomfortable when they took the braces off. I do know that your teeth feel very strange and smooth a few weeks afterwards and you can't stop smiling!

No it doesn't hurt at all. Just be sure to wear your retainer. It doesn't take too long,  maybe over an hour. Good luck : )

I didnt like it when he scraped the glue off. I felt like he was pulling my teeth out and breaking them. sorry to scare you.. he was about 60 but .. yano haha

ALSOO when i was having them on i lifted my tongue up and it went on the glue and it was such a bad pain. but i had to deal with it lol
