Question:

Getting Internet From Another House 100 Yards Away?

Well I live at both houses off and on, and only one of them has an internet connection. It's a rural area, and there are no houses between the 2 houses. I also live in a cold climate, so it would be very cold in the winter (might need this information if I'm connecting wired)

I need to know what the best option is to get internet to the house that doesn't have a connection. Please describe in detail what you think would be good to do.

  1. Tin can and string

  2. try to get a router with a long rang signal. most 802.11n routers would do fine. I can check my mail from across the street with my psp

  3. Put a wireless router on the end of the house so it is closest to the other house.  Get a router that says it is good for range.  Also get an adapter for your pc that is good for range.  100yds shouldnt be too big of a problem with Wireless-N rangemax hardware.
