Getting Prank Calls - What should I do?

I keep getting prank phone calls (with obscene language sometimes). The caller either calls from Restricted or a cell phone number.What should I do? Any ideas......

There is a special telephone number that you may call to report this type of nuisance.  You will have to look it up in your phone book.  Or try dialing "0" for the operator.  They should be able to direct you to the proper people that can help you with that.

Generally, after you get one of these types of harassing phone calls, you would immediately call a special phone number that automatically reports the previous phone call to the abuse center.  After a certain number of complaints from you, perhaps five, will the authorities then take action against this person.  At no time will they ever release the person's name or phone number to you.  Also, every time you report a phone call, the phone company is going to charge you a fee, perhaps a dollar or two.

1st notify your phone company. They can instruct you on their particular policy in handling the matter. Usually they can initiate the process that will then begin tracking the calls and notify the authorities that you are receiving harassing phone calls.  Usually this is enough to scare the caller.
