Getting Rid Of Cane Toads - They hurt my new puppy!?

A stupid toad made my brand new puppy critically ill last night. I would like to know how to get rid of toads from my backyard AND keep them away. All humane and inhumane ideas welcomed. We have put salt and detol down but they keep coming back. We do not want to freeze them and put them out with the rubbish coz that is gross. Thanks guys!

you should call the animal shelter and ask if there is anything they could do like catch them

There is really no way of keeping them from your yard.The only thing I have had success with is putting detol in a spray bottle & spray them. Is there somewhere you can put your puppy of an evening so he/she isn't trying to play with them.Once your puppy gets older it may realise cane toads are not something to play with,my dog totally ignores them now.

I would try to contact a pest control company and see if they have any suggestions. I hope the puppy gets better.

There's no way to keep them away that wouldn't also harm your puppy.

You need to keep a better eye on your pup, and teach it not to harass/eat/l**k animals it comes across.
