I was thinking about getting my tongue pierced?

How much does it hurt - they're not allowed to numb it anymore are they?

Anything else..opinions etc would be great.

thanks x

  1. I dont think it'll hurt that bad. Most peeps say it like biting your tongue (hurts for a split second). I dont think they numb it, but I think your suppose to chew or eat ice before you get it done and after you get it done.

As for my opinion, I honestly like tongue piercings. I want mines done.

  2. i got mine done on (aug 14 08) thursday night at 7pm. it felt like i burnt my tongue on a hot drink. there was NO swelling at all that night. the next day i was eating ramen and baby food and a few hours later chowing down on ziti. i have had minimal swelling and the only time it is sore is when i brush the bar with my toothbrush.

totally worth it. my navel piercing was worse than this!!

(i have NO pain tolerance either... i still cry when i get shots but i was totally fine for this!)

  3. Well, it is a needle going through your tongue, it will hurt. Everyone has a different level of pain tolerance so it doesn't really matter how bad other people think it will hurt. They do not numb it, it takes about 20 seconds to pierce it so numbing it would be a waste of time. It will be swollen for a while and you will probably have a bit of a lisp until you learn how to re-form your words with the jewelry in your mouth.

  4. DONT

my cousin had it done and it was so painfull the next day he had to let it grow over

  5. Make sure you know the place has a good reputation

make sure they check where your vein is down your tongue

my piercing is slightly to the left because i have a vein

make sure you see them do open a new sterilized needle

when its actually pierced its just uncomfortable and then swells up

the worst bit is the next 10 days

i wouldn't say because of the pain

but eating is very difficult just because your tongue is so swollen, its like uncomfortable not agonizing pain

also you sound like a d*** and everyone takes the p**s

i considered taking it out (mostly coz of the eating thing) but once you get over that i love it :)

heals really fast like its more annoying than say your ears but where as i had my tongue done a couple months ago and now have no problems i had my 3rd ears done a good few months before that and they can still be sore some times

Oh and if they try and numb it DONT let them do it

if they are a decent piercer it WONT hurt

  6. when i got my navel done last year honestly i never felt the lady pierce my navel i never felt the needle going through my skin no i wasn't numbed either and i never felt the curved bar bell going through my skin and she put that balls on and i was done

all piercings hurt no matter what you get done.

No they don't numb any kind of piercing

    everyone has different pain tolerance

some piercings hurt more then other just depends on your body really

    Do Body Piercings Hurt?

Yup - they do. Some more than others. Some people are more or less sensitive than others, so there is no way to really say how bad a piercing is going to feel to you. But, the point is this - could you handle a really bad pain for 30 seconds? Well, most piercings last even less time than that, and most piercings are not that bad. Yes, they hurt. But it's over so fast, you really don't have much time to think about it. Some will bring a tear to your eye, but I've never heard anyone screaming bloody murder from the next room. Honestly, if you're really that scared of the pain, you probably shouldn't get the piercing

  7. 'all piercings hurt no matter what you get done.

No they don't numb any kind of piercing'

This isnt true...although they wont numb anything on ur face becasue it is too close to your eyes they can numb ears, navel (i had mine frozen) etc

I even know a place that numbs the area for tatoos
