We have to get weighed in school, and it's not in front of everyone, but I am overweight, and I am embarassed on the scale, I'm afraid the nurse/teacher will make a face or say something mean or rude. Should I just not worry about it? Scared!

  1. Hey, don't worry about it, haha.  I know it's embarrassing, but I'm pretty sure that the nurses or teachers won't see anything of it.  You may be overweight, but hey, there's bound to be another person that weighs more.  If students in your school have to be weighed then the nurses and teachers would have not a lot of free time to say a bunch of bad stuff about you (and they shouldn't, what kind of teacher/nurse is that??) The nurses and teachers won't judge your whole being on a number thats on a scale. Take it from me, being weighed in front of everyone was not fun, and really embarrassing.  But no one cared after,  it was all in my mind.  You will feel embarrassed, but the nurse will probably forget about your weight when the next person comes in.

So don't be afraid of a number, =)  After all, we deal with bigger numbers in school, so just go in there and stand on that scale, and you'll be fine.  I can assure you that you'll feel weird after you go, but you'll get out alive and unscathed, and the nurse will forget about your weight (theres just too many people).

If they say something bad, then shrug it off, don't let one person you probably don't even know make you feel like dirt.  You should thank them for letting you know how judge mental they are.  But if their doing it for your own good (like if they aren't putting you down and trying to help you) then thank them for helping you.

Hope I helped, ha ha. =) Cheers.

  2. thats weird, I've never been weighed in school and i've moved around ALOT... I've never heard of that!! I think thats kinda rude to have to be weighed in school!!

But dont worry about what they say... just do it and get it over with!!

  3. oh... hm. this is a delicate subject.  so if you find anything that i say offensive, please dont take it personally or take it to heart.  it wasnt meant to be mean.

well heres what i think.  if you are overweight, it is probably obvious to everyone around you including nurses and teachers.  so they are probably expecting you to be a little on the heavy side. so whats the big deal??? be proud of yourself.  get up on that scale and dont worry about what anyone is gonna say!! =)

    good luck♥

  4. She shold not be laughing at you, that is dsirespectful. You can complain.

You could just refuse to get weighed. =P

  5. NO!!! Don't be scared. Weight is nothing to be ashamed/embarresed about. If they make a face or say anything rude, i would just go to the principals office and complain about it =) They will get kicked out!

  6. Just get on.

    They won't say anything.

  7. well then theyre not nice

  8. don;t be scared the nurse will not be mean about it she will just take your weight and than send you on your way. she has other students to weigh and she doesn't have time to yell at you for being overweight. IF your uncomfortable on the scale than get on the scale backwards or close your eyes or ask the nurse not to tell you your weight.

Everyone is uncomfortable on the scale so your not alone

  9. I agree. At the clinic, I sometimes get weighed, and I don't always like the number on the scale. The nurse was actually rude about it, when I told her my weight. Then again, she's just a *****. Ha-ha.

Don't worry. If your really that concerned about your weight, you can work out more, or diet. I'm sure it'll be okay. :-) Just love yourself for who ya are. :-)

  10. they dont say anything and if they do they can get in trouble for it. i am a little overweight too (shh! dont tell anyone lol) and they just weigh you, tell you how much you weigh then write it down. they could care less

  11. u dont need to worrie its gonna be ok shes not allowed to say nothing rude to you thats just her job to weigh you its ur doctors that will say something to you sooo stopp worring

  12. You should aknoledge the fact that you are a bit over weight, but this gives no excuss for anybody to pull a face at you or look at you in that blank irretating way that some school nurses have.

Of caurse, I am sure that your nurse is not as horrible as some.

    Be positive.

What's the worst that could happen,

when I was younger (i was really over weight) and my teacher decided to weigh each of us and put the messurments on a graph in the classroom, so u see, things can be a lot worse....

  13. Who cares what peoplesay about you.

  14. She wont be mean unless she is a heartless person. Employees can get in trouble making ugly comments about students, so you tell the principal if she says anything!

  15. dont worry about it. it will probably go like this.

    teach: step on the scale

you:okay (then step on the scale)

teacher: okay(then she will right your weight down) you can go

    its fine

    just relaxxxx

  16. don't be worried about it! the nurse/teach most likely will not make a face at you and won't say something rude or mean! she will just weigh you and you're done.

  17. chill over half da peoples in america r over weight who cares get over it

  18. i hate getting weighed in school. :-P

    grr.

the nurse/teacher doesn't say anything or make faces..

they just write you weight down and go on to the next person.

you don't even have to know until the letter comes home from school. which i hate. oh well. :-P

  19. no, becuse no one can criticised you, because on how much you weigh~~
