If you're 18 years of age or older in Florida do you need a permit to get your license?

  1. not at all, you bypass the permit level after 18, you will need other items but with everything there are factors;

    if your a US citizen all you need is your official birth certificate, proof of address, one other form of identification such as a passport or your social security card, you will need to bring a car that you can take your road test with along with proof of insurance for the car (the insurance doesn't have to be in your name) and your set.

    if your not you need all thee above plus your immigration papers such as green cards, passports, visa's, etc and the length of the license will depend only on the documents you provide.

    If you don't have a car the best thing to do is pay a driving school to help you get your license, they don't have to teach you to drive you can just pay to use their car for the test (they have small cars making the road test easier to pass) especially for the three point turn....don't forget to buckle up!
