Getting a Hamster!?

I wanted to know about how much it coststo have a hamster. I figured it would be about $119.27 (Canadian) for a hamster and all of its stuff. How much is it per year?

Ok im from sask. Here is what i payed at petsmart for mine.(SOme of this is confusing so it might not have it all.)

Drytail-$5.99

Rainbow chews - $3.99

Hamster treats- $3.27

Dwarf hamster- $9.99

Food dish- $2.99

Small Hideaway - $3.99

Food - $6.99

Aspen bed shavings. 40L- $12.49

with my taxes it came out to $54.18

But i bought some stuff i didnt need to,

Plus a cage would be from $20-50 So probely

$130 - This includes the bed and food you will need to buy later.

sorry i'm not from canada! i have a hamster named sir chico. i love him very much. about every three months, i make a trip to petco to buy fresh bedding, food, and vitamins depending on if i've run out at home. all together that costs like $30. 30 times four is 120. the hamster himself costed 15 dollars. so the first year with you new companion should cost you about $135 (american)
