  1. Usually the best treatments for a sty are warm compresses and cleaning the eyelids thorougly. If the medication your sister has is an over-the-counter cream, it usually does not work. This is because a sty is usually the result of a clogged eyelash pore or gland o*****e (like a pimple)-- so added oily substances will make it worse.

Warm a rag with warm water and compress the affected eyelid for 5 minutes. Do this a few times a day. Make sure you wash your face thorougly with face wash (including eyelids). Or, use baby shampoo to cleanse the eyelashes. The sty should subside in a few days. If not, see an optometrist.

Also, it should be fine to wear contact lenses. Make sure you clean them regularly.

  2. That sty means that you have not been getting enough sleep.

Try to go to sleep early and when you see it erupt, gently scratch it off and blot the area with tissue, then use some sterile eye drops.

It will heal up pretty quick, but it will probably itch.

You should be able to wear contacts, but make sure they are really clean.
