Getting a birth certificate in canada born in iraq?

i have a copy of my birth certificate but i need an orriginal, im in canada originaly born in iraq, where do i get a original in toronto canada

Issue of Birth certificate:

    Either parents applying for a child birth certificate for their own child must make an appointment to come in person to the Embassy of Iraq in Ottawa and follow these steps:

    * Original Canadian statement of birth (long form) authenticated by the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs in Ottawa.

    * The Embassy of Iraq in Ottawa issues a child birth certificate relying on both; the Original certificate of Iraqi nationality and the original certificate of personal civil registration of the father and mother.

    * Marriage certificate certified by the ministry of foreign affairs of the country the marriage took place or the Embassy of that country in Ottawa.

    * An application fee of $20.00 U.S. dollars (includes authentication of Birth certificate).

I couldn't find any information on their website regarding issuing of replacement birth certificates, but the procedure could be similar.  It would be best to call them to ask.

You MAY have to go to the Iraqi Cousulate in Canada OR write to the place of your birth... I know in the USA, a birth certificate can be obtained only by one of the person's on the original certificate.... you or either of your parents...  In order to use the certificate for proof of age, passports, etc, it MUST have the embosed "seal" and that is why an original is requested...   In the USA, an original can be acquired a few ways... either at the town clerk's office (or equivalent) in the town where you were born, at the hospital where you were born,  OR, at the Bueau of Vital Statistics for a person's indivudal state where he or she was born...  For example,  I'm in New York, the Bureau of Vital Statistics is in the New York State Health Department... So, I would contact the New York State health Department...    For an American Citizen born outside the USA, you contact the Bureau of vital statistics in Washington DC,  (did that for a step son once who was born in Germany).... in Canada, if you are a CANADIAN CITIZEN, you might go to the equivalent Bureau in Ottawa..
