Question:

Getting a body wave after coloring hair?

I am a sixteen year old girl with long, thick, slightly wavy brown hair. I had it cut (thinned) and colored (darker) a few days ago and it looks great. However every time that I go to the salon, the results only last a few weeks and my hair ends up being thick and boring again. I recently ran into an old freind whose hair looks FABULOUS, and she told me she got a body wave this summer. I am really interested in it now, but i don't know if it is compatible with my colored hair. Help!

  1. Just wait a week or 2 and it will be fine. The only thing is that your colour will fade a little

If done properly you shouldnt have a problem with frizz =)

  2. A body wave doesn't have anything to do with the coloring. However, if you do end up getting one, body waves are notoriously frizzy, so make sure you get enough products to take care of frizz.

  3. I would say that as long as you have no highlights in your hair you should be fine.  As a hairstylist I have pretty good luck perming those with color treated hair.   I do find however that those that have had highlights tend to get to weak of a curl pattern and it ends up being dammaged.  So if you have had highlights in the last year  I wouldn't recommend it.

    Good luck!
