Getting a handicaped space in front of my house??

I own a twin in a small circle with limited parking. When we moved in our neighbors kindly told us how the parking worked. Basically you get two spaces. the one in the driveway( which is very steep) and the one infront of your mail box. All others have to park on themain street which is what out circle is off of. No one lives on that street. all the house are in the circles off of that road so tons of parking! and it's not that far at all. We have all ways complied with these un offical rules. When we have guest over we tell them where to park. On top of that we have four cars in our family so two park on the main road. Now to the problem we got new neighbors in the summer. we kindly told them several times the deal with parking. Every time they have a visitor they park in our space in front of our house. Besides being super rude that is my mother in laws space, and her husband is disabled. so parking on the main road is a problem for them.

if the parking spot is rightfully yours put up a sign that says "this parking spot it for authorized vehicles only all other will be towed" or something alone those line. and when anyone parks in your spot you can legally have there car towed

You should either not listen to others in UR area, or find out what the real law's are legally.  

It may be that someone is bent on having you do what they say & not what the law's say for that particular area.

Obviously, it isn't having any effect on UR nieghbors who aren't listening to you.

Or move to a better place & next time, look into every law there is official, or unofficial.

it it a public street or private. if public they have a right to park there

I have seen this before and you can either contact the (HOA) or the city and they will assist you with your needs.
