Question:

Getting a home phone line from BT?

This will seem like a very simple question for most but I have never had to set up a phone line before and my boyfriend 'hasn't got round to it' since we moved several months ago so I'm taking it into my own hands. Only problem is I don't know where to start, how much it's going to cost etc. We have sockets in our house for a phone line so I presume it just needs reconnecting?? Help please?

  2. just cos you got a phone line to your house doesnt mean you have to go with bt shop round and see what offers are on the table around here /liverpool  talk  talk are offering free  broadband if you sign up with them  so  have a good look first good luck  and ps tell you fellar to move himself .

  3. Just ring Bt, cost around £100, but ask them.

  4. Hi,

You can start with www.bt.com or call them for free on 0800 800 150.

They will take you through the steps to get the line working (if a lines been in the house before) or installed (if it's a total new line). cost is £9.99 and £125.00 respectively, and you will pay line rental, depending on the calls package you choose.

As others have said you can look around but BT my be your only choice for the line.

    Hope this helps?
