Getting a job on a cruise ship, I live in the UK?

Hi,

I have been a sales executive now for the past 4 years, and want to start a career on board a cruise ship. But....

What job can a sales executive do on a cruise ship? I know for a fact that they have sales execs on board selling excursions and memberships but i cant seem to find any info on the web at all.

The only job i can find is excursion manager, but you need at sea experience!

You need to contact the cruise lines AND the concessionaires who are on ships.  First, the people who run the shops, clothing stores, spas, and photography are concessioners and they are based in the UK.  Here are their web links to get you started on contacting them.  Below are links for you.

Then you need to contact the cruise lines directly. On their web sites you will find a link to jobs, employment, human resources or some such link that will give you information about their positions. Some sites even have current vacancies they are recruiting for. Several cruise lines have new ships coming out soon so opportunities will be there. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Disney and some others will have new ships launched in the next couple years.

For a person with so much experience being sales executive I would recommend you get in touch with some cruise ships regarding employment as a purser. I imagine you have a lot of experience handling money and funds so you should be qualified for this.
