Getting a new computer- what do I do about itunes?

My laptop is pretty much broken- the screen is about to fall off. So anyway, I've been saving stuff to a thumb-drive, and it came across me- what am I going to do about itunes?

How do I go about this? Do I just download it to the new computer and log in? And if so, whats a way to get my password emailed to me? It doesn't make me sign in, so I don't remember what it is.

  1. just download itunes on the new computer and you might have to transfer each of your songs individually to itunes which is a pain.  But you can try tune ranger to transfer everything from your ipod to the new itunes.

Here is the link for tune ranger but you can go to download.com and download a free trial version

  2. If you get a new computer, Setup Assistant helps you transfer files from another computer. If you don't transfer files during setup, you can transfer your iTunes library by connecting computers, or by using a portable hard drive or iPod.

For more information, open Mac Help (in the Finder, choose Help > Mac Help) and search for "transferring files between computers." Also click the links below to see articles on the Apple Service & Support website.

When you sell or give away a computer, don't forget to deauthorize it.
