Getting a rebuild engine...where and how much?

I am looking into getting a rebuilt engine for my 1998 Dodge Dakota Sport. It currently has a 3.9 V6 engine with either a blown head gasket or cracked cylinder. I figure if I am going to put the money into it, I might as well spend a little more for something that will hopefully last longer. I live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia in Franklin, VA 23851. Thanks so much for all the responses on the last posting. How much should I expect to spend on a rebuild engine?

try advance auto if u have one in ur area. get the tough one cuz its a better warranty. i got a 4.3 V6 and it came with 5 years unlimited milage and its still running 2day 6 + years later. for under $1800.00

they had another 1 for under $1400.00 but only 12 month warranty. good luck.

cost about 2116 for a jasper rebuilt engine, then another about 1000 for install, about 15 hours of labor atleast.
