Getting a social life?

Question

I'm an 18 year old student in my final homeschooling year. For this year I need ways to go out and meet people because for most of my life, day by day go past without meeting anyone beyond my own family.

I have criteria:

1 Preferable meeting fellow teenagers

2 People who share my interests: video gaming, sport, art,

Join a club, go to a party, meet some people in a video game store, join a sport, maybe go see some art shows, go places that you feel comfortable and talk to other people there

start up in a sport that a bunch of people are in. My friend is homeschooled too, and she joins plays, and meets a lot of ppl there.

Go to every social event possible .. especially events with your special interest.

Be very sociable, friendly, and out-going.   And know, in order to have a friend - you must first be-a-friend.

go to a hang out place for teenagers....a restaurant or a park or something

I was homeschooled till last year my freshman year in highschool I begged my mom to send me to junior high though.  She refused to send me to school before highschool and even then she didn't let me go without a fight. I love school but I haven't met very many friends to hang out with this summer but I still love school 100 times better than homeschooling.  

so now my actual advice

try talking to people after church if you go to church

go to a coffee shop

go to a concert

just be friendly and say hello and hopefully the conversation takes off

well has to be some options out there , could maybe check out a nearby high school and see if you could join any of there clubs. also place like the ymca might offer some options as well  , there usually into that .
