  1. Hi, you may not be able to take a tortoise on any airline carrier. It is considered an exotic animal by most airline standards. The typical animals that are allowed are: dogs, cats, and hamsters...animals of that nature. Even with the allowed pets, they may get quarantined when you clear customs and agriculture in the different countries and may be released to you right away, in a few days, or when you return home.  (The paperwork that you would have to fill out are declaration and agricultural forms).

I know for a fact that American carriers do not accept small turtles, birds or any other creatures like that.

I would play it safe and wait until you finish your travels prior to purchasing your pet. The reason I know about the turtles is because I was going to buy one before I started my summer travels but after calling around, I decided it would be best to wait.

    Enjoy your travels!

  2. IReland and egypt will most likley not allow you to bring in a foregin animal. If it were to be a dog, sure, but a tortise, i doubt it, call your local airline.

  3. i don't know about ireland or egypt but the US doesn't allow foreign plants animals or food past customs
