Getting an Apple ipod Touch engraved?

I just recently received an ipod touch from my husband for my birthday. He bought it at Target. He didn't get it engraved because he didn't know that if he bought it from Apple, they include free laser engraving. Now he is upset because he paid the same price at Target that he would have at the Apple store. Would Apple take my ipod and engrave it for me now? he purchased it less than 30 days ago, should we return it to Target and go buy one at the Apple store. What do you think?

Apple will not engrave it for you. You can try returning it to Target and getting a new one from Apple, but DO NOT GET IT ENGRAVED YOURSELF. It voids the warranty and they cannot fix it if something goes wrong. There are places that do this, but it is not worth paying to replace it if something goes wrong. i.e it needs to be replaced because the engraving causes the case to be more flexible

but it came with an engraving "infamous"  lol

I bought my ipod touch at a target and if you wanted it engraved apple wouldn't take it since you bought it from target. So i think you should return the ipod to target and repurchase the ipod at apple and then you could have it engraved and upload all your songs again.
