The manager said he was looking at applications on monday.

I havent gotten a call for an interiew yet.

Should I call and ask him about the application or wait a few more days.

For the time schedule i put that I was availabe from 10am-2pm but able to work overtime. Will that hurt my chances for getting an interview.

They said they were hiring when I handed in my application.

  1. Always call the day after you fill out an application--no matter where it is.

Always do it, be active.  Say "I am just calling to follow up on my application."  That's all you've got to do..people that do that are 100 times more likely to get a job!  Take it from me, I am the F&B Director at a huge hotel (even have a starbucks..i run that too).  I have 400 employees...think I have time to call all these people?  Nope, the ones I hire are usually the ones that call me.

  2. Starbucks is cutting 12,000 jobs and closing 600 stores soon.  I don't think they are hiring.

  3. Well, interestingly, I heard on the news today that Starbucks is closing about 600 stores nation-wide and cutting about 12,000 jobs.  They said the competition is tough and people just aren't spending money like they used to.  They did say they were planning to open about 200 new stores in different locations, but they were planning to staff them with as many employees who were working in the stores being closed as possible.  If that's true, there may be a lot of people applying for the same job you did.  Maybe you should ask whomever you interviewed with about that.

  4. Tonight on ABC world news.  They said they are closing a few Star Bucks Stores.

Seriously, maybe they are going to lose their store.

  5. wait a few more days

probably not, you put in alot of time to work for 10 - 2 is four hours plus overtime isn't bad

  6. it's always okay to call in and ask what the status of your application is. it shows them that you really care and you are dedicated to getting the job.

  7. just wait..dont seem to desperate...and if they dont call in a week go there or call them yourself and see wats up

  8. you should wait until a few more day. what you said on your application is perfectly fine and truthful.

  9. Generally I would say it might as they may need a person to work times other than what you can work. If you can work times other than that you should put it, don't put what you "feel" like working because employers generally want someone who is flexible. If it is due to school or something like that put why, employers like it when you put you go to school (college) because it shows commitment.

Giving a call could possibly show him you are really interested in the position, and it will end your worrying.

  10. 10 am to 2pm would be kind of a weird shift so possibly unless they'd hire you pt and not give you benefits but no way you should call i learned the hard way it shows you're more willing to work hard than a person who doesn't call about their application.
