  1. There are a variety of golf buggies that you can rent as there are 500 Carts on the island.

You will need some form of I.D but nothing more.

I am still working on the price and expect to hear from someone in the area--stay tuned

You can e-mail Jesus.  he works at Prisma cart rentals @ jesuscontrerasb@hotmail .com  and reserve one for your trip

I have heard from my guy at Prisma and they charge 12usd an hour---one hour minimum

  2. Here is a link to Isla Mujeres

    http://www.isla-mujeres.net

We rented a golf cart for $45.00 for the day, they accept only cash. You need your driver's license, which they keep till you return the golf cart.

print a map of the island off the Internet.

We had fun going around the island. We ended up at Norte Beach for refreshments and a swim. Bring water, sunscreen and towels if you plan going to the beach. Bring cash or pesos, most places don't accept credit cards.

Lots of good information on the website.

We thought it was worth it. We had a lot of fun. There was 4 of us. We stopped along the way at different places and took some great photos. We also did some shopping.

Have a great time in Mexico)

p.s. we didn't reserve in advance. we just walked up and rented a golf cart, this way you aren't locked into just one day and we were never bothered by the locals. It is slow going up hill, we just waved the people behind us on. We did do much laughing.

  3. I can't remember exactly how much they cost but they are cheap  and you just need a drivers license.  I used my non photocard old style license when I went.

They are worth hiring as you can explore the whole island and not just the busy port area.

Downfalls is that although they have a roof, there are no windows so when it rains, you get soaked.  I got very wet but it was still warm so not a huge problem.  They also go pretty slow uphill.

Also beware of locals flagging you down and giving you directions.  They are sending you to the brothers/fathers/friends shop or trying to sell you drugs.
