Getting avi files into dvd format to work on a dvd player?

hi everyone, I want to get some avi files into dvd format and get them to work on my dvd player.

so far I've tried using nero start smart but my avi files increase in size by 3-4 times and I can only fit 2 files onto 1 dvd disc, it also seems to takes 4-5 hours which is crazy. why does it do this and can I compress the files to fit more onto a disc. I'm sure people can fit more onto a dvd and get the job done much faster but I'm a complete novice at this

  2. I would recommend you download ConvertXtoDVD. Ive been using it for a year now, on windows, never had a problem!

It will convert your video files to the dvd format readable by all standard dvd players, then burn automatically to DVD!

it is easy to use, fast and it works perfect for me.. give it a try, you'll love it

    1. Download ConvertXtoDVD from vso official site here:

    http://www.vso-software.fr/products/conv...

It can convert any video file.. like

avi, divx, xvid, mov, mkv, flv ,youtube,  mpeg1, mpeg2, mpeg-, nsv, dvr-ms, tivo, ts, ifo, vob, asf, wmv, realmedia, rm, rmvb, ogm,

    2. Add or drag-n-drop as many video files as the DVD can handle

    3. Insert blank DVD

    4. Click "Convert"

    5. Enjoy watching those video files on your home DVD player! =)

ConvertXtoDVD has a lot of extra nice features too,

for example you can make your own DVD menu or auto-generate it, add subtitles, auto-burn to dvd or save your conversion.

  3. I do the same way as you you can only get 2 on a disc.

  4. download "divx converter" from google, I use frostwire and with divx converter i've never had problems!hope this helps! (remember uninstall any old programs eg kazaa before downloading new ones)

  5. If your downloaded film's are split into 2 part's (normally named cd1 and cd 2) use virtualdub to join them. If they are separate film's then I would recommend vso software's convert x to dvd program or for single file encode's vso's divx to dvd (divx to dvd is free, convert x to dvd isn't, but nothing a crack or keygen won't sort out).

As for the amount of time it is taking to encoded, nero will take that long (and is a c**p encode tool) the other programs I have mentioned will do the same job in about an hour or so but encoding all depends on how fast your processor is the slower the cpu the longer it will take to encode.

You can compress your files to fit more onto a disc but you will reduce the video quality a h**l of a lot.

Any other questions just send me a mail.

    Hope this helps.
