  1. Do not panic!!!!!! Your adult tooth needs the room and sometimes baby teeth just don't want to leave!!!!   Your adult tooth must have some place to come in so as long as the baby tooth is in the way the adult tooth will just change its course and push in where it can....causing crowding and other problems. This procedure is very simple... you will be numb and though we can not make the pressure or the sounds of the extraction procedure go away you should not feel any sharp pain.  Talk to your dentist and the assistant and tell them how you feel... try not to let this be torture for you...

  2. no it doesn't hurt i had it done a few months ago. the numb your mouth the needle doesn't hurt, the they get this clamp thingy and twist the tooth out, it doesn't hurt honestly you hear a cruch noise thats all its not scary eithar, dont worry about. the clamp isnt a clamp well it is but it isn't lol it wont hurt. take a few Kalms before going it helped keep me calm

  3. i'm not gonna lie it hurts like h**l

  4. Recently I had four baby teeth extracted because they didn't come out by themselves and the adult teeth just grew crooked. I'll explain what it was like and won't make it sound better than it really is.

First of all, they rubbed my gum with some cotton wool and a liquid on it that numbed the surface of my gum. Then they injected me with anethesia. The injection didn't the first three times because the teeth were near the back, and so was the injection. However the final tooth was nearer to the middle, and injections to that area hurt more. They aren't especially painful, just uncomfortable and unpleasant.

Next, they used some metallic instrument to press in at the tooth and wobble it around. This doesn't hurt at all, it just feels somewhat strange. The idea is to loosen the tooth before actually pulling it out.

Then comes the actual extraction. They get a small pliers-like instrument and grab a hold of the tooth. They pull slightly to the left and right to loosen it more, and then after a few seconds, they actually pull it out. It doesn't hurt in the slightest, but you do know it's happening. Imagine someone pulling your finger with medium force. It doesn't hurt, but you feel it. You also feel the absence of a tooth and the blood. Extractions almost always lead to bleeding. It lasts for a while too, so they put these cotton cylinders in the gaps to soak it up.

So no, it does not hurt. The only problem is your mind. If you get squeamish at the sensation of blood in your mouth and the sight of an extracted tooth, then you might feel slightly nauseas, but it should only last a few minutes.

The wound takes about a week to heal as far as I recall. During that time, be careful not to brush that area of the gum or it will bleed quite easily. It will sting if anything touches the area. Also make sure to wash it out with salted water to disinfect the wound. My dentist really emphasised that part. Just don't do that until a day after the extractions or you'll just irritate it. The gaps may hurt a little bit for maybe two days, but it's nothing major. I got my it without any painkillers, but the dentist said to take some if it's bothering you.

Anyway, I was dreading the procedure, but I was glad once it was done and it had all healed. Definitely worth it. Good luck. Don't get too shook up, it's a quick procedure, especially for just one tooth.

  5. If the dentist is good at getting people numb, you should feel no pain other then the shot which shouldn't hurt much.

  6. it doesn't hurt too bad but it did hurt me a bit. That was cause my dentist didn't wait long enough for the tooth numbing stuff to take affect so i felt it all. Make sure your dentist waits long enough for the numbing stuff to work. The numbing shots hurt a little in your mouth. But overall its OK

  7. the dentist will numb you!! numbing is a needle, but try not to freak out too much lol (like i do!)

numbing the area where the tooth is will help you not feel anything so when the dentsit pulls the tooth you wont feel it.

Because the tooth is a baby tooth, the procedure should be quick. it doesn't take very long to pull out a baby tooth.

The dentist will ask if you feel anything around the area he numbed you. if you dont he will then continue to pull the tooth out.

If you do feel anything just tell your dentist or nurse. He/she and the nurse will make you very comfortable.
