Getting braces this month, and I am really self-conscious about myself already, im worried they'll look dorky?

So yeah, I'm a cheerleader so i'm gunna have to smile and make cheer faces A LOT at games and competitions. Some people I know look really cute with braces, and some people I know look horrible (but those are mainly the ones who have food stuck in there =S ) I know that it will be well worth it when they come off, but, I dunno.. im just worried that people will laugh at me or something...

Any help with this issue?

Whats the colour thats the most invisible (other than clear)?

And stuff like that...

Have you looked into Invisalign? Also, there is something called "invisible" braces, they attach to the inside, or back, of your teeth instead. Many dentists now do these things.

If none of those options works for you, just get some fun girly colors (or maybe your cheer team's colors?), pretty bands, and don't worry about your smile. It won't be as bad as you think. :D And later you'll be SO happy you did it!

There's nothing to be worried about, braces are like a fashion statement nowadays, half the cheerleaders at my school have braces. You'll think they look weird at first but after a while they just grow on you (if you know what I mean). No-one laughed at me when I got mine on I actually received a lot of compliments and it's also fun to experiment with colours (glow in the dark for example). A friend of mine had the same problem as you and she just has clear brackets and bands with gold wire - hardly noticeable if you ask me.

Get your school's colors. Make sure you don't eat anything before a game or competition. If you do, make sure you have enough time to get to the bathroom(With a mirror! If they don't have any bring one from home) check your teeth. Braces have actually improved my looks. I have gotten teased about it, but they people that did tease me were douche bags.
