Getting brakes done at just brakes. want to know in the $99 special do they use ceramic replacmenys

some companies use sub-standard replacments pads. just brakes offers all 4 wheels for $99. do they use ceramic pads or some run of the mill replacement pads that are only good for a short period?

  1. They use non-ceramic, semi-metallic pads. They are good for about 20000 miles under normal braking. Ceramic pads are going to cost anywhere from $150 to over $300 per axle depending on the type of vehicle.


  2. If your paying $99 for a brake job that should cost $200 your getting a $99 brake job.  There is no free lunch and you always need to read the fine print.

    Aftermarket brake pads come in a variety of quality grades and for $99 you are not going to be getting the high-end OE quality replacements.  You'll be getting the Red Box specials with no chamfer, shims or slots and generic friction material.  They will stop the car and wear all right but don't expect much more.
