Getting engagement rings. What to engrave?

I want to get two engraved gold bands for me and my GF. I'm wondering if I should get them engraved. For her I want to get -love is forgiving. Because that what I wrote her when we got into a one large fight. So I figured out since we'll fight more, it will be conveniently placed in the ring.

What do I get for myself?

I don't think "love is forgiving" is a good idea.

It seems like a message to her that she should always forgive you and you're always right. Also, that you're planning to fight with her a lot. Even if that's not what you're thinking, it could be interpreted that way.

I don't know if that makes sense. But it would honestly p**s me off if a guy gave me a ring with love is forgiving engraved on it.

I dont think you should bring up any kind of fighting on a ring that is supposed to last forever

Personally I would go with   Love Is Eternal  on both rings and the wedding date. Congratulations
