Question:

Getting excess baking soda out of my car seat.?

Here's the problem.

I removed a stain on my car seat using baking soda. The stain came out and so did the odor. However, I'm now left with a chalky residue from the soda, even though I've washed the seat nearly 5 times.

Would using vinegar on the seat to react with the soda that's left be any help to remove it?

Thanks =]

  1. If it is dry, have you tried vacuuming?

  2. Baking soda should dissolve in water, so perhaps you aren't using enough water.  Vinegar would react with the baking soda, but you would still be left with a white substance (sodium acetate).

  3. yes use the vinegar...it will foam up and then rinse it with water.

  4. First vacuum up the Baking Soda then wash with one cup of White Vinegar to a half bucket of warm water, the vinegar will help dissolve the baking soda while cleaning, wash with vinegar and water mix until the baking soda residue has been removed then just rinse with cool water and dry the area with a towel Good Luck !
