Getting fired from Kmart..

I just got hired at kmart, now this girl that works there, absolutely hates me. And she told me that when i start, she is going to tell management everything she can to get me fired. What is she does tell them lies and i do get fired because of it. What can i do?

Did the person who fired you provide a reason for your termination? If the reason was based on unprovable accusations, you may have a case to be reinstated. If so, you should contact an employment lawyer. However, do you want to be reinstated and continue to work for an employer that's that stupid?

If the employer didn't give a reason, you may not have a case. In most states, employment is "at-will" which means you can be fired for any reason (except race, nationality, disability, etc), or no reason.

Beat her to it - go to management and tell them that this girl told you she would do everything to get you sacked. Good luck!

Beat her to the punch. Tell the store manager directly about the conversation. That way they will not believe what she says without looking into it. Also, that is a form of harassment.

They will not fire you just because some girl makes slanderous remarks about you.  They need to have some backing, K-Mart wont risk the possible legal action of a unjust termination.

Get a different job.  Kmart sucks anyways.  Walmart is better.  Lower prices.  Always.
