Any shuttle bus or train that goes from domestic terminal (tullamarine or something its called) to the city. Also which stop is the main city stop? Also i'll have a bit of luggage with me...would that be a prob?

  1. Take the Skybus.  It runs 24/7 (granted times vary depending on the time of day/night) and goes directly into the city.  It'll drop you at one of the main train stations (Southern Cross/Spencer Street) and will shuttle you to your hotel if it's in the city.

  2. You want to jump on the Skybus mate.  It's cheap (around $16), runs a regular timetable, and drops at most major hotels as well as the "main" train station (being Southern Cross) in Melbourne.  Providing you're not "moving house", your luggage shouldn't be a problem.  They usually allow two pieces of luggage per passenger; but extra is at the discretion of the driver and whether or not there is the room (ie you've got the bus to yourself or she's packed to the rafters).

The only other alternative is a taxi... which will set you back around $60+ (depending on whether it's peak or not).

There isn't a train service to Tullamarine; so that's not an option.

    Welcome to Oz.

  3. Take the shuttle bus outside the terminal of Tullamarine airport.

It goes straight to Southern Cross Station (formerly called Spencer Street Station). Luggage is no problem as you can take it with the bus.

Hint: If you need to go back to the airport later on you better ask for a "return ticket" as this comes cheaper than two single tickets.

@safyre: the shuttle bus isn't on AUD 16 any longer. It was on AUD 22 this January for a return ticket. But maybe you meant a single ticket?

  4. you could get off at spencer st ( southern cross station) and grab a cab/taxi from there to carlton

its not so far away but fare would depend on traffic and how well the driver knew where he was going

why not try to get some info from your friend , or look up 'whereis.com.au ' and enter your destination and put Spencer st in as the 'from address'

carlton is not that far its a suburb north of the city

  5. See the Melbounre Airport website - (how to get to and from airport)

"Melbourne Airport is located approximately 25 kms from the Melbourne's CBD on the Tullamarine Freeway - less than 25 minutes by car. http://www.melbourneairport.com.au/to_fr...

Gives you all the options - buses/taxis etc

    Airport Shuttle bus - http://www.airportshuttlebus.com.au

A luggage storage facility is available at Melbourne Airport through SmarteCarte - http://www.melbourneairport.com.au/airpo...
