Question:

Getting from Pearon airport to Scarborough Town Centre?

Anytime I fly to Toronto to visit my Aunt in Scarborough I end up taking the 155 or 153 rocket or what ever to the train station, then the train from Kipling to Scarborough with a change at Kennedy, then another bus to her house. Total transit time about an hour and a half. Do I have any other options for the go bus etc?

  1. Honestly, the subway would be the quickest way since you avoid all the traffic. See if her house is closer to an RT station than it is from the bus. That can cut a few more minutes off commute.

  2. Using the GO system, you'd have to take two routes:

    34 Brampton Local, Hwy 27, Hwy 427

From Airport to York Mills station - takes 1/2 hour

    (Schedule: http://www.gotransit.com/publicroot/en/s... )

    94 Oshawa Hwy 2 bus

From York Mills to Scarborough Town Centre - takes 15 minutes

    (Schedule: http://www.gotransit.com/publicroot/en/s... )

The thing is, the schedules are different depending on the day of the week and time of day.  So you should check and see whether it's worth doing it that way for the time of day you choose, because the time between buses at York Mills might make it not worth it.  But the GO buses are a lot more comfortable than TTC buses and subways, especially with luggage!

Also, you're going to pay more on GO Transit, and if you have to switch to the TTC anyhow, you'll be paying both GO Transit fare ($5.75 from the airport to Scarborough Town Centre) and the TTC ($2.75) whereas if you just take the TTC and suck up the time, you'll pay under three bucks for the whole trip.
