Getting from Torrance to UCLA?

What's the fastest way to get from Torrance to UCLA via public transportation? Last time I took the Torrance 2 and the Metro 20 and it took 2.5 hours. My bus driver told me there's a way to take a combination of Culver City bus and Metro that would only take 45 minutes. Does anybody know of this way or a faster way?

  1. If you're going during normal working hours, I think UCLA has a vanpool from Torrance that you could use.

  2. Well, the answer would have to be yes & no. From Torrance there is a faster route but it will still take about 1.5 hours. You would need to take a Torrance Transit #8 bus which runs along Hawthorne Blvd to the LAX City Bus Center and transfer to a Culver Citybus #6 bus which runs along sepulveda Blvd to UCLA. Each segment is aproximately 40 to 45 minutes which would save you some time. Good Luck!

  3. have you tried taking Torrance Line 8 to the Lax City Bus center

then transfer to Culver city Line 6?

also are you student at UCLA ?

UCLA also has many carpools/vans pools in the area

you might want to look into that

also in the near future  Culver city and Torrance both want

to start a Rapid Bus  (Culver city would operate their

    along Sepulvedea

Torrance I'm not sure (probally Hawthone)

  4. Go to the Mets web site, and put in your travel times and start finish spots. www.mta.net  Good luck.
