Getting from Victoria to Willoughby Lane (Edmonton/Tottenham area) in North London tomorrow...Help!?

I need to get to that area in North London, the TFL website isnt that helpful, it comes up with a confusing route which says get the tube to one point then two bus journeys (one 4min and one 2min) and then walk for 5 min.......surely if the bus journeys are that short i could walk, please can some one give me a simpler route as i am not familiar with London outside of the central part. Thanks

  1. If we're talking about Willoughby Lane, N17, then you could take the Victoria line tube to Tottenham Hale which also has an Overground railway station.  One stop on the overground will take you to Northumberland Park station which is very close to Willoughby Lane.  Take a look on Multimap.

I don't know the cost or the train running times - I don't live near there - but you could search the web for that.

  2. You can used the advanced option on the Transport for London website to  filter out what forms of transport you want to use which can make it easier.

The route that seems to take the least effort is taking the tube from Victoria to Tottenham Hale then picking up the 192 and walking from a certain stop.  However, if you don't want the hassle of taking the bus, you can adjust the journey planner using the advancef option so it plans a walking route for you from Tottenham Hale but the walking route it's thrown up is 40 minutes:

    http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/user/XS...

There is also a black taxi rank and mini cab service in the Tottenham Hale Station.

This is an alternative route planner that you can use but it's thrown up the same route:

  3. by far the easiest and the simplist way to go is by useing the underground from victoria station, simply get on the victoria line (baby blue) and go northbound all the way to tottenham hale and then you will have a short walk to Willoughby Lane. Go on http://maps.google.co.uk/ and type in your destination (Willoughby Lane) and look southward and you will see the station Tottenham Hale.

I Wouldnt be able to say how long this will take as I never go to the area and on the website you were on it doesnt show that route, but I would say it should take around 45min maybe more maybe less. Just looked on google maps again and it says it will take you another 40min to walk from the station to the destination. So you can get a 2minute train journey from Tottenham Hale to Northumberland Park but trains keep on going each hour and you need to hope that there are no rail works seeing as it is a bank holiday, I just suggest get there and see when the next train is then decide whether it'll be wuicker waiting for the train or just walking.

    Hope This Helps
