Question:

Getting fur off my comforter?

I have 2 cats that sleep on top of my bed while I'm gone all day. I don't mind that so much except that there is a TON of fur on it. I've tried vacuuming it, I got a special brush for furniture, still nothing is working. And before anyone gets smart, I'm not shaving my cats and I'm not getting rid of them. Thanks!

  1. Place a sheet over your comforter when you are away.  Easy to clean and your comforter will be furless!

    Good Luck!

  2. Throw it in the dryer for 15 - 20 minutes.

  3. Duct tape, or covering it works.

If there is as much fur as I'm imagining.. you might have to brush them so they don't shed so much. Giving them baths might be hazardous.... for you. xP

  4. It sounds silly, but it's always worked really well for me... Wrap your hand in several layers of duct-tape (sticky side facing out) and then brush the comforter.  Works for me!

  5. Well with our 4 cats we always use a lent roller. But i have heard that duct tape works very well. not all the hair will come off with the lent roller but most will and trust me a little hair is better than a lot of hair. b/c i have bad alergys and they can get to me! [=[=[= Good luck friend!

  6. All of the answers so far are great.  However, I've found a better way.  If you get some Rubbermaid dishwashing gloves, at the store, and put them on your hands (dry), you can rub in big circles on the fur, and it will all "pill up", then you can just pick it off.  Do this a few times, and the hair will all be gone.

Of course, it's easier to put the sheet over your bed, like one of the others mentioned.  Sheets can be shaken out, and reused for days, before needing to be washed!

    Good luck.....................
