Getting high on oxycontin?

i'm just confused. kuz like say you had 80 mg pills, and ppl say its only safe to take like 20-30 mg, and you wanna take it orally do you hafta cut it up? or is it only different when u snort it?

Oxycontin is an extended release drug. In general, extended release drugs cannot be cut. Some who has never taken the drug before, maybe experience a "high feeling." But people who have been on the drug for a while, develop a tolerance, and there dosage has to increase. And also, it also depends on your weight and the amount of pain a person is in.

crushed and snorted, or crushed and swallowed you are still ingesting the equivalency of 16 percocets. This can be deadly,especially if you have not built up a tolerance to this amount.  If you do take take as prescribed and take it whole.

the body becomes more immune to a drug the longer you take it. People who take high doses are either in a lot of pain (Cancer, Chronic Pain...ect) or have a high tolerance to the drug. Oxycontin is a strong pain killer which is in a controlled released tablet. people who crush and/or snort it are looking to get a stronger fix. I would not recommend this to anyone. From one person to the next this drug will effect you differently.
