Getting in shape, Its too hard?

In my opinion I am fat. Im a male 6ft 184 lbs. 18 years old. But I still have blubber around my stomach and chest. I used to weigh 220 but lost that in a summer.

I am very athletic, I take sports serious, (captain of soccer team). I just picked up tennis and im getting very good at it. I also run a mile when I can, ( I really hate long distance running, gets boring)

I cut out soda, chips, candy, and fast food. I only drink water and milk with some orange juice.I workout sometimes when im not tired from playing sports all day.

But I still cant lose that flubber and its making me go nuts. I want a tone, hard body.

What else can I do?

  1. I don't understand how you can be the captain of a soccer team, in addition to working out on your own, and think that you are not in shape.  If you are able to keep up with lighter competitors, you're doing well.

    Your overall weight is not as important as you BMI.  Your BMI is 25, and is at the very bottom of what NIH considers overweight.

    That you cut out the junk food is good, but what else are you eating?  My guess is that there must be something calorie-dense in your normal diet since you seem to be burning lots of calories without mobilizing your fat reserves.

    Find out where those hidden calories are coming from, and keep working out.


  2. Have you heard of Tony Horton's P90x?  That will do the trick!  You will get ripped and be in the best shape by doing this system!  I am currently using it and Wow!  It is awesome!

    Now, it is NOT easy and it is not cheap!  But, it is fun and it is a challenge!  You have to be dedicated though and do the work!  It is not for beginners, but you say you do a lot of sports, so it would definitely be fine for you.

  3. Yeah you're eating something calorie dense or maybe you're eating healthy food but still more then your body needs. ...I was like that I used to play basketball at school 1 hour a day and never lost any fat because I just ate so much lol.
