Getting in shape? i run a lot but i don't want to hurt myself before the season starts by running everyday?

what are the best things to do to cross train (as in the days im not running) to get in my best shape?

things such as jumproping etc.

  1. Swimming is very good for cross training.  You could swim laps, run in the water (less impact and more resistance), do push-ups on the side of the pool, etc.

    Biking is not a bad idea, if you stay on paved areas.  it works your quads, which can help your running.  If you go off-roading, you have a higher risk of injury.

    Jump rope is good, as it works the cardiovascular system, as well as the arms and legs a bit.  Just don't slam your legs down, as that would cause unnecessary impact on your legs.
