  1. lift weights alot and work on ur aproach and go on a diet if un not on one allready

  2. It is necessary to hit the ball in the right area of your palm. It should be the area nearest to your wrist joint. It is also important that you take a step at the same time you bring your arm up to hit. It must be all one move. The step helps you get the ball over the net because you are adding power to the hit. The underhand serve also has to be followed through with a step and the swing of your arm must reach a certain height so that the ball makes it over, if not it will be short of the net. Let me know if this helped you any?

  3. Have you tried this workout video?  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKCGe2Ezr...

  4. All you have to do is perfect your toss. You can always go stand on a line, and act like you are about to serve, and then toss the ball up and make sure it lands right in front of you other foot. If that makes senses.

  5. u should use little weights to help u get it over keep practicing!!

  6. i only have advice on getting in shape. i usually do a jump serve, so I'm not even gonna try to help with an overhand/underhand serve.

but what i do to get in shape/condition, i run about a mile or two everyday. sounds hard, but if you have an mp3 player or something, its so much easier. for me, anyway. also, try doing suicides. i do about 100-200 calf raises everyday, to try to increase my vertical jump. jump roping is good for that as well.

try separating your distance workouts from your sprint workouts. like, do one day distance, and the next sprints. do lots of lunges and squats to strengthen your leg muscles.

to strengthen your arms, do push ups. i know everyone will tell you to do them, but they really do work.

one last thing, stretch 2 or 3 times a day. this will make sure you like don't pull a muscle. hope i helped? haha good luck with tryouts (:

  7. Its all about the toss!  I always tell my girls to make their palms face the sky and try to toss it straight up in front of them.  The less spinning and craziness the better.  Stand with your left foot forward (if you are right handed) and your toss should land to the right of your left foot (inside the frame of your body).  That should put your toss right in the path of your arm swing.  I would definately start closer to the net and slowly work your way back, but if you don't have a net at home to practice with, work on getting a consistent toss!!!  If you are having trouble with where to contact the ball, start by actually throwing the ball over the net.  Where your hand leaves the ball is where you should hit the ball.  It will generally be behind and a little underneath.  I hope this helps!  If you need anything else let me know.

  8. start practicing getting your over hand serve over the net from a short distance and move farther and farther after you make it over from that spot ten times in a row without missing. Make sure you stretch really well before this, and work on upper body strength, toss height, etc.
