Getting in shape to fast?

I'm a Junior in high school and I run cross country. I want to be in great shape for our first meet. But I'm not sure if getting in shape to fast will be bad for the rest of the season. I'm not talking about injuries, I'm just wondering if my performance will be worse If I get in shape to fast. Anything helps!!

-Thank you

  1. If you workout too hard yes, you will ruin your season. The most common coaching mistake in Cross Country is OVERTRAINING.

  2. If you are getting in shape naturally and are getting better than most of those on your team.  Do not worry about it. Do not worry about "peaking" you may peak but next year you will be better.  Trust in God and get good.

  3. I heared that if you have a lot of muscles for cc that its just going to slow you down and your going to have more weight on you
