Question:

Getting into Stanford...

I am applying to Stanford for my undergrad admissions and I ave no idea what my odds are.

My school transcript is very good, I got a 2180 in my SAT I, I have yet to give my SAT II's, I've got great teacher recommendations.

But the problem is, I dont have a lot of extra curriculars. I have done a lot of community service though.

could you please give me some tips? I really want to go to Stanford.

  1. Try to get involved in extra curricular activities now. It may be too late to start a sport, but you could probably become involved in a club, and you could definitely volunteer in your community. I'm a volunteer dance teacher, and I also work with an organization that records books for the blind & dyslexic. RFB&D have locations throughout the country, and they might have one near one. A letter of rec from the director of a volunteer program will help you to stand out, and it's really rewarding.

Try to enter into science and history fairs and writing competitions because it shows that you can compete outside of your school.

Good luck! I'm applying there this year. : )
