Getting into a fios modem/router?

im trying to get into a verizon fios modem/router.(actiontec) i have the ip address, but what settings do i need to set to use pc anywhere from a remote location?

there is a mac on the system as well as a dell.

i have the dell set up as the host. i do know the machine is

on and waiting to host.

  1. ok I have no idea if my fios router is the same as yours but here it goes

    the easiest thing would be to go into the firewall settings and enter the local IP address of the computer hosting PCAnywhere into the DMZ HOST section.  but that's crazy dangerous son

    The safer way is once you've logged in to your router's settings go to Port Forwarding under the same area.

    1. click add

    2. enter the pcanywhere's host computer ip address  (or select the host's computer name in the dropdown)

    2. select PC Anywhere Host in the second field (this will then automatically open up the proper ports to work with pcanywhere clients)

    3. leave the third one at "all broadband devices"

    4. leave the last drop-down menu at "always"

    hit apply and that should be it.  you shouldn't have to do jack to any client computer...

    if it doesn't work after that & not even with the DMZ host setting enabled to the host computer then obviously you got something else (like maybe the firewall built into windows xp) blocking ports on the host computer!  have fun & good luck with that shizzzz
