Getting into a rated R movie?

okay so my friend and i are going to the movies tomorrow. I'm 14 and hes 18. were planning on seeing tropic thunder. we live in AZ but our question is. can i buy my ticket there with him there. or should he buy my ticket online and then get his ticket when we actually go

The law is no one under 17 without a parent or legal guardian but many theaters do not follow it.

where i live they usually make the 17+ buy the ticket for both people. and they also have some rule that for each 17+ there can only be two underage people.  but in your case it's only you two so that shouldn't be a problem.
