Getting laid off ? Whom do they remove first ?

Our company got taken over by another and they might lay off lot of employees. I am just 1 and 1/2 years old in my company .... do they get rid of the higher employees or they start with the inexperienced employees first ?

i went through 3 mergers at my last company. They remove "overlap" employees usually first. Then some of the middle men and then fewer of the execs. Believe it or not, your price point is important more then your tenor. An admin who makes 40k will stay around longer then a mid-lvl 60k IT tech person.

To sum it up, middle management and 60-90k employees have the most to be concerned about, unless there isn't an overlap in the position.
