Question:

Getting layers... Think this'll work?

Okay, I'm going to go to the salon and I'm getting...

1. My hair thinned. It's a beyotch to take care of. Just a little bit... make it easier.

2. Getting short, razored layers. The best way I can explain it is toned-down scene hair. They'll start at my earlobe, then get shorter.

3. Getting a trim. :]

My hair is naturally wavy, and it takes foreverrrr to straighten. I love my waves on the bottom, but no so much the top.

My idea is I'd straighten my top layers in the morning, but leave my longer layer wavy. Think that'll look good?

Here's a pic of my hair:

That's a sort of old pic... My hair is longer now, and my bangs are wider.

Thanks! :]

  1. My hair is alot like yours and im going to do the same thing you are doing with your hair,I don't think you should leave your longer layers wavey but you should try it and see what it looks like and then if you don't like it straighten all of you hair hope this helped?

  2. I've been a hairstylist for 10 years now. :)

    1. If you have naturally wavy hair, I would not suggest thinning it out unless you've had it done before and liked it. My hair is  naturally curly, and thinning it out made it mat up in the back when I let it curl naturally.

    2. If you get razored layers,  you have to do your hair every day, no matter what! There is no wash-n-wear with this cut. If you don't take the time every morning to do it, it will look like it was cut uneven on accident.

    3. Trims are always good! :) But if you want it shorter, go for it!

Love the self pic. ;-) And, no, leaving the very bottom wavy won't always look good. Sometimes you can get away with it, but sometimes it doesn't work. (When I'm curling w/ up-do's, I will sometimes leave the back, but when straightening, I don't.)

Good luck! Have fun with your hair!

  3. I have long hair it was all one length and really thick.. I took a photo of a girl with a fohawk (top layer of hair cut shorter so you can style it as a mohawk but still have your length) when i wear it down, I can tease the top layer(shorter layer) and it gives the scene look

  4. I think anything you have to do where you're making less work for yourself is good, good, good!!!!! You have gorgeous hair BTW!! I love that color! But yeah, like I said, anything to give yourself less work and leave yourself more time for YOU, I'd go for!!
