Question:

Getting life back on track

I am looking for advice from those that have been in similar situations as I am now.

I am 19 years old. Last year, I was enrolled in college, majoring in Aviation. It went well for the first semester, and I started the next semester. I started a job at a hotel, working 3rd shift. Seeing how my classes are in the morning, I dropped out my 2nd semester. I signed up the next summer at a community college, but again got lazy and dropped. I quit every job I have. I just want to go back to a normal 4-year college and get my life back on track, do you think any colleges will take me, despite my horrible college record? I got a 19 on my ACT, which I'm going to retake for the sake of improving my chances of being accepted. My high school grades were average. Also I have no cosigner or my parents tax information to file FAFSA, so wondering if anyone knows of a company who will loan me student loans. Thank you all.

  1. Unless you owe a college money, most universities will take you. I would get transcripts sent from your university, the one that you had a good semester.  I would neglect to tell them about the college.  Also, you do not need your parents tax info for student aid unless they carried you, and they shouldn't have last year if you were on your own.  One more thing the government has student loans that they issue not based on credit scores and they are very leniant on payback.

Get it together and get on with your future.
