Getting married abroad, any help or suggestions?

The U.S. Virgin Islands, no passports or visas needed, affordable.

According to Wedding Etiquette, you should check out the accomodations available so that your guests are not left to there own devices to find board in a foreign area :o)

The best thing to do is let people know it advance.  I'd say, give them a full year.  So, if you want to get married next October, you need to send a Save the Date Card and a packet with information.  That way, they know you're serious and they can start planning.

I would try to find a place that's a resort type deal.  Not sure how common that is in Portugal, Spain or Italy.   But, I know when people book weddings at resorts, they tend to get a discount for their guests.

My other advice.  Don't do this alone.  Normally, you can book a vacation without a travel agent.  But, you're having a large amount of people in your party.  It would be best to consult a travel professional.  Plus, they might be able to get you deals and discounts.

My Next door neighbour got married in France not where she lives(uk) her mum told me it was expensive but I think UK is the most expensive than all. On my Nephew's wedding , he spend £35000. No Wonder many people donot bother getting married these days.
