Getting married in india?

i know this has been asked and answered many times but i need some clarification please.

i'm american and my fiance is indian. we are iskcon devotees and desire to get married in india. from the answers i've read here it seems that we should have our vaisnava wedding at the radha-krishna temple in vrndavan and then take a letter and photos and my passport to the registrar for certification, yes? my darling is an indian citizen so she will bring her paperwork, etc...

this is a bit different than in the u.s. so i want to be quite sure that we do everything properly. also, there is no way for me to stay in india for 30 days in preparation for marriage as i must be back in the states for my business.

thanks for any advice.

    congratulations on your wedding! :)

i would try to find out as much info as you can from the US embassy. there are a lot of people from the US who go over there to get married, so i'm sure they will be able to help you with questions you have. i also found a link to an about.com page solely about getting married in india.

i hope these will help you! Haribol!!
