Question:

Getting my L's?

I'm 16 and I'm preparing to start on my L's by this school holiday but worried about failing them. Many of my friends have obtained theirs already, with me being one of the last because I've put if off for a while.

Would it be extremely hard to obtain a Learner's Licence?

  1. The only way is reading the handbook a couple of times, don't just stare at the page or anything. You need to focus, it's important to know the road rules. You'll be given scenarios on your test and you need to know what to do in them kind of situations or you'll probably fail, make sure you take in as much information as you can and if you think you're not taking the information in at all stop for a while and start reading again.

  2. Just look around at all the people you know who are real idiots and who have their licenses, not just their Learner's. It's really not all that difficult - if it was, would they have passed? Getting a Learner's is very easy - just learn the rules and have someone quiz you on them.

If you put the time into learning the rules and have a few lessons with a driving school just before your test, you should pass first time. Most people find this to be a huge help and well worth the money as they know all the traps and things to be aware of.

If you're in a state with a requirement for lots of log book hours, it will be even easier as you'll have a fair bit of driving experience before you go for your test.

  3. It's not hard, but it can be tricky.

Mostly, the questions are just common sense though there are some to memorise such as alcohol limits and stuff.

Go here: http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/test... - and do the DKT (Driver Knowledge Test) as much as possible until you get 100% and know the answers pretty much off by heart.

The L's test will have the same questions and answers anyways.

    Hope this helps!

  4. Theres a practice knowledge test on the RTA website, which has the same questions on the actual knowledge test you will do at the RTA..

Do the practice test a few times, until you pass it without a single question wrong.. and if you can do that a few times. you wont have a problem passing it.

If you get 2 wrong, you will fail.. Especially wrong answers on safety..

  5. Failed mine 3 times never been back

  6. Its not hard at all, just make sure youre prepared. Get the drivers handbook and read over it a few times. Also, practice the online test at http://www.rta.com

    Good luck!

  7. Congratulations, I know your parents weren't to keen on you getting your L's.

Buy the book and study it, read it and ask your parents to quiz you.

You can do the online practice test here: http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/test...

Go to the RTA website and download the 300 or 500 questions, these are ALL the possible questions they can ask you. Print them out, study them, highlight the correct answer (you may need a parents help) and revise. You can get them: http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/down... or http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/down...

I got my L's on my 16th birthday, 100% and that's what I did. The questions were extremely helpful.

    Best of luck.
