Question:

Getting my son off his Bottle?

My Son takes his bottle to bed with him every night I KNOW!!! Thats bad, wrong and all that. But, its worked for us great no ear infections, no being sick from it. I realize I'm one of the fortunate ones. But anyway.

Hes totally attached to his bottle.

Hes 11months old, and I just started him on whole milk so he gets some of that everyday and I was hoping by the time he is 12months hes be off his bottle.

So, any suggestions on how to get my son off his bottle with him being soooo attached and taking it to bed with him?

I've got him to take to 1 sippy cup out of the million I bought but, I have to hold it and give it to him, You think when he wants a bottle I can just put his formula in it and just sit feed him that way? or will this even wean him from it? I think if I can get him to get away from his bottle at night I'm home free, but how do i do that?

I really don't know what to do, and I will not use the cry it out method..

Any Suggestions?

Thanks! =)

  1. i am going through this with our 8 month old. i am trying to switch him from his bottle to a trainer cup, but he wont hold either.

what i would suggest is hard. start by selecting one bottle a day, same time every day, not the night one. and give him a sippy. keep doing this for as long as it takes, that he will just take the sippy. even if its weeks. then select another bottle. and try to keep doing it until he switches over.

otherwise. go cold turkey. just give it to him and nothing else. eventually he will break down and take it.

i know it is stressful and it will take work on your end to keep it going. good luck!
